很多业务员认为自己很努力工作，我会说：“你很努力吗？可是你并没有讲话讲到嘴巴流血呀。”我天生乐观，记得小时候跟别人打架，打到上下排牙齿都掉了，妈妈看到我的模样，心疼地哭了起来，可是我依旧很快乐。妈妈不解地问我为什么？我说：“牙齿都掉了，我从今以后就不用刷牙了。”

从事行销业，我们没有摆臭脸的资格，每天都要笑脸迎人。微笑是会传染的，只要你带着微笑，别人也会对你微笑，气氛就会跟着改变，所以人要尽可能地微笑，把欢乐传给别人。

煮锅绿豆天天吃

我的第一份工作是在福特汽车当会计，工作起来驾轻就熟，可是我做得并不快乐。我宁可多绕点远路，也不要在一个我不喜欢的地方工作一辈子。亲友听说我离职了，都觉得很不可思议，但我认为如果不能找到适才适性的工作，这辈子绝对不会快乐。

科学家会发明东西，艺人会表演唱歌，那是他们的专长，那我的专长就是福特汽车最不喜欢我的地方——我很爱讲话。老板常瞪着我说：“Leon，我是雇你来工作，不是来讲话的。你可不可以不要讲话，不要影响别人上班？”

当我面试新工作时，告诉每个老板我喜欢讲话，他们一听都笑了。再问我除了讲话还有没有其他要求？I say I don't like complicated administrative work, so I hope there's less of it, and I can talk from morning till night, with the best benefits. Each boss laughed, but one boss didn't just laugh - he asked me to repeat it in his office. He thought these three requests were hilarious, but I wasn't joking. I believe that all young people looking for a job should be brave enough to face their strengths and not deceive employers. Otherwise, even if you're lucky enough to get hired, you won't be happy.

Although I couldn't find a job at first, I refused to compromise until my pocket was left with only 27 dollars.

My friend joked that instead of eating McDonald's every day and spending all my money quickly, I should cook a big pot of green bean soup and eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for several days. So I bought a big bag of green beans and cooked a huge pot which lasted for three or four weeks.

Lecturing until my mouth bleeds

I applied to 300 companies; each boss thought me funny as hell except one CEO who took me seriously: "Leon do you really mean what you say? Do you want a job where you can talk from dawn till dusk? A job almost without administrative tasks? And high pay?"

He hugged me tightly excitedly saying "That's exactly what we've been looking for! You finally appear! People here claim they work hard or have great grades but none speak straight forwardly."

The next day he gave me an assignment: call 500 clients by myself every day starting at 6:30 PM. The recording device recorded how many calls i made; no matter how late i got home when i finished calling the last client (usually around 2-3 AM), the device knew everything because i had promised him i would make those calls daily.

One time after making the last call someone answered vaguely telling me he would come see me tomorrow - thinking he wanted investment advice (he did) - later on found out he came due to insomnia caused by my non-stop talking during his sleep hours causing glass breaking incident.

My daily lecturing led to accidental tongue biting leading sometimes bleeding mouths many business men believed themselves very hardworking asking salary increase while i said “you are not speaking loud enough” – referring them back into being ordinary workers – they could never achieve this level because they were afraid of change hence unable continue listening further thus failing trying something new though in reality this is simple process that’s why most individuals fail since they cannot take risks which leads them living lives below expectations yet always wondering why life isn’t more fulfilling than expected…
